Icam Liaisons - Icam today

Icam, a unique educational project in full expansion
Founded on humanist values and guided by Ignatian pedagogy, Icam has been committed for over a century to training free, aware and committed individuals, capable of meeting the challenges of their time. Today, this mission is taking on a new dimension as Icam expands in France and internationally, strengthening its position in global higher education.
Icam is developing a balanced network, based on the diversity of its components and the wealth of shared activities. In France, with the arrival of the Strasbourg Europe campus, Icam is establishing itself in a new region, while strengthening its links with industry and opening up to other cultures, notably European. Internationally, Icam continues to expand with new sites in Africa (Cameroon, Congo, DRC), India and South America (Brazil, Ecuador). These sites reinforce the institution's mission of supporting economic and social change in fast-growing regions. By collaborating with local players, Icam is able to guarantee training adapted to the realities on the ground, while maintaining a strong link with its students. This responds to the growing need to train engineers capable of evolving in a variety of contexts, where mastery of multicultural issues is essential. It also responds to a desire for openness and continuous enrichment.
The success of this expansion relies on the strength of the collective: Icam and its campuses, the Féron Vrau Foundation, the Icam alumni association, the Friends of Icam, allied universities and the Society of Jesus. Ensuring the coherence and sustainability of this multicultural, multisite ecosystem is a major challenge. This collective approach fosters innovation and creates synergies, enabling Icam to keep pace with the times and meet international challenges, while maintaining its local roots. The various changes enrich the identity of Icam, which remains faithful to its roots while adapting to the challenges of the modern world. Each campus, whether in France or abroad, is designed as a place to live, learn and share, with particular attention to the spiritual and ethical dimension of our training courses and, more broadly, of our activities.
Since 2020, Icam's 2025 strategic plan has placed integral ecology at the heart of its priorities, guiding numerous structuring projects. This approach embodies Icam's boldness and commitment to transforming society and leaving future generations a world that is fairer and more respectful of the environment.
In conclusion, Icam is asserting itself as a singular and responsible player in global engineering education, reconciling tradition and innovation. Recent developments bear witness to its ability to reinvent itself without abandoning its founding values. The future of Icam and its students looks promising, with the ambition of building a more united and sustainable world. Together and with these changes, let's continue to transform our institutions and our societies, so as to leave future generations a world that is more fraternal and more respectful of our common home.
