Dear friends,
As the new Chairman of the Icam engineers' association, I'm delighted to be able to express my views in this fine magazine.
The Board of Directors has elected me to take the association forward, and also to forge new links. I'm counting on all of you to contribute to the success of our common objectives, which I've outlined in the "Life of the Association" page.
The engineering profession is evolving as a result of numerous disciplines, which require openness and ongoing training. Our "Icam à Vie" project is an ambitious step in this direction.
The Icam engineer, becoming a humanist manager, is confronted in any case with finance, this discipline of globalization which is frightening and requires discernment. That's why our December issue has chosen this theme for a highly participative dossier. It encourages us to think and act through a variety of testimonials.
Our Focus is devoted to Spain, a major European country, where almost 80 Icam companies have decided to work. Here, too, we present a wealth of first-hand accounts that shed light on our progress.
Icam is pursuing its international development, and we welcome the opening of a new institute - Unicap-Icam- which has just opened in Recife, Brazil. In particular, Icam will be contributing its experience in innovative and creative teaching methods.
Icam is taking steps to improve its ranking. We report on this, knowing that alumni are very concerned about this issue. Icam must shine to continue to be a leader in the transformation of society, in the spirit of Laudato Si, through the training of young people.
Our chaplain also turns his attention to the international scene in this issue. He explains how the Jesuits are present in many parts of the world.
We're also developing the "Portrait of a leader" and " Day at an Icam" sections, which appeal to everyone and help them understand the meaning of action.
Finally, as the year draws to a close, we don't forget to talk about our projects, financing, organization and employment, with insights from the IESF and Universum surveys.
I hope you enjoy reading IL and have a wonderful holiday season. May 2020 bring you the fulfillment of the projects you hold dear, both personally and professionally.
