Editorial
Dear friends,
This issue has been produced from home, in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic. We hope you're all well. We are now developing solidarity between Icam (cf. our appeal in Flash), and we're going to contribute together to getting out of the crisis.
Our association has had to postpone our annual AI meeting. We're still aiming to bring together a large number of students, young alumni and the not-so-young to reflect on the challenges of artificial intelligence. Man will remain the strongest if he continues to discern and answer the question: what is it to be human?
We're preparing for the future by working on a strategic plan for 2020-2025. It is being drawn up as a team with the Group, based on major themes: our Ignatian roots, our links with the economic world, our international dimension, our reputation and our collective way of operating. We are due to finalize these for the June 6 Board meeting, and will report on them in our year-end review.
Following on from the Internet revolution, we're now looking at a new technology: blockchain. It's the subject of our dossier. It is going to be applied everywhere, and will eliminate many intermediaries when transmitting information. We have gathered numerous testimonies and a Jesuit perspective.
Our Focus is devoted to Africa, essentially Central Africa, given Icam's developments on this continent. The testimonies are rich.
Father Bougon, a Jesuit, helps us to reflect on choice and discernment, and we also look at political commitment with the questions asked by alumni of Jesuit schools who met in Reims.
We also feature powerful testimonials in our "Portrait of an executive" and "A day in the life of an Icam engineer" sections.
Finally, we don't forget to talk about the schools' organization and projects, as well as international affairs.
We hope you enjoy reading Icam liaisons, and we invite you to continue to act as the association's relays: update your contact details, get the word out and get involved locally, in liaison with your promotion delegates and regional managers.
We look forward to seeing you again or reading more.
