We were 25 alumni to visit the "Green Artois" methanization site at Frévin-Capelle near Arras, welcomed by the site manager, who is passionate about communicating his job.

The visit was suggested by Albert Degryck (66 ILI) and Gilles Grimaud (79 ILI), who had gone there on an open day. We were given a glimpse of the complexities involved in mastering the methanization process, in all its different phases, chemical transformations, traceability, safety and regulatory compliance requirements, as well as those of our customer ENGIE.

The site was created on the initiative of four farmers, and augurs well for the future of the control and optimization of these networked operations.

A fascinating visit, the activity is more complex than it seems, and gives us a new perspective on the world of agriculture.

The visit was followed by a meal at a nearby restaurant, where old and new Icams gathered.
